Expansive grasslands, floodplains and mopane woodlands make this place where the Linyanti River meets the Savuti Channel one of Botswana’s most diverse habitats and a haven for wildlife. DESCRIPTION: Wilderness Savuti is situated in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, set on the productive Savuti Channel which is famous as a sporadic and unusual watercourse. As part of a natural cycle, the waters of the Savuti Channel either flow strongly – a magnet for thirsty wildlife – or recede to leave behind a rich grassland. Regardless, both plains game and predators thrive, and exploring the length of this channel and its associated woodlands is thus a highlight here.
