DESCRIPTION: Wilderness Little Tubu is an enchanting wildlife sanctuary on game-rich Hunda Island in the Okavango Delta - only a few have the privilege to visit. Like its big sister Tubu Tree, Little Tubu is situated in the Jao Reserve, in the north of the Okavango Delta. Renowned as one of the most rewarding safari locations on Earth, and perhaps the most exclusive, Little Tubu accommodates just six guests, and offers the kind of game viewing you probably thought only existed in wildlife documentaries. Deeply personal and life changing, Little Tubu offers a safari experience like few others. Three eco-chic, luxury tents are perched on raised platforms overlooking a spectacle of untamed Okavango wilderness. Renowned as one of the most rewarding safari locations on Earth, and perhaps the most exclusive, Little Tubu accommodates just six guests, and offers the kind of game viewing you probably thought only existed in wildlife documentaries. Wilderness Little Tubu is situated on Hunda Island, the largest dry land environment in this area, hosts a mix of diverse habitats, ensuring a varied game viewing experience. Activities include day and night game drives through productive mopane and acacia woodlands. During winter (May to late September), boating, seasonal fishing and mokoro trips are also offered. Sightings around Wilderness Little Tubu includes elephants, lions, Burchell's zebra, red lechwe, southern giraffe, tsessebe, and blue wildebeest on the floodplains. Kudu, impala, bushbuck, and leopard are usually seen in the forested areas. The variety of birdlife is impressive, with dry-land species seen on the larger islands, and a multitude of wetland birds seen on the floodplains and waterways. Wilderness Little Tubu offers an exceptional, intimate bush experience with just three traditional-style tents – ideal for families or small groups. This classic Okavango setting and experience seemingly floats in the riverine tree canopy, and looks out over a seasonal riverbed which ebbs and flows with the passage of a variety of wildlife. Elevated walkways link the tents to the main dining, bar, and pool areas, integrated beautifully with the environment and taking full advantage of the alluring views over the floodplains. The camp is connected to nearby Wilderness Tubu Tree, its larger sister camp, by elevated boardwalks. Spend a memorable night in the camp’s hide, converted at night to a star bed, blanketed by the African heavens. Wilderness Little Tubu – Game Drives Morning and afternoon game drives reveal the spectacular wildlife that can be seen in the area. These are offered in open 4x4 vehicles each accommodating a maximum of seven people allowing each guest a "window" seat. Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals you wouldn’t see during normal daytime drives. Porcupine, aardwolf, serval, large spotted genet and lesser bushbaby are just some of these. Wilderness Little Tubu – Mokoro Excursions * Experience the Okavango Delta gliding along in a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) which has been used by generations for transport in the region where there are many more serene channels than roads. This excursion is perfect for spotting tiny reed frogs or larger pods of hippos in the deeper water. * Water levels permitting. Wilderness Little Tubu – Boating * Discover by boat and search for water-based wildlife further afield. Good game viewing in the channels further away from camp often yield fabulous sightings of hippos and crocodiles, and maybe even the rare sitatunga. * Water levels permitting. Wilderness Little Tubu – Fishing * Fishing with a limited supply of basic equipment is on offer seasonally on a catch and release basis. * Note that fishing is seasonal as it is prohibited by Botswana law in January and February due to breeding purposes. Wilderness Little Tubu – Birding The mix of habitat ensures a variety of birdlife to be seen, from flocks of endangered wattled crane and glimpses of the rare lesser jacana on the eastern side, to Meyer’s parrots and Dickinson’s kestrel in the west. • Kuname Lodge

Kuname Lodge Kuname Lodge A small, unashamedly exclusive, luxury safari lodge set in the Karongwe Big 5 Private Game Reserve Kuname-outdoor-lounge.jpeg kuname-private-game-reserve-4.jpg kuname-exclusive-luxury-safari-lodge-gallery-2.jpeg Kuname-outdoor-lounge.jpeg 1/19 Location Karongwe Big 5 Reserve, overlooking the majestic Drakensberg mountain range in the Limpopo Province. DESCRIPTION: Set in the Limpopo Province, Kuname Lodge is a small, unashamedly exclusive, luxury safari lodge set in about 9 000 hectares of pristine African bush in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve. Bordered by an awesome backdrop of the towering majestic Drakensberg mountain range in the west and set in game-rich, lush, riverine vegetation, this lodge has a variety of breathtaking views, diverse landscapes and offers excellent Big Five game-viewing and bird watching opportunities. It really is a haven for those in search of a high quality and romantic bush experience! As you enter the lodge for the first time you will be blown away by the stunningly pretty location, with the lodge nestled in a beautiful forest glade with its swimming pool perched over a picturesque river bed. Built on the banks of the Kuvjename River, Kuname Lodge boasts 4 Luxury Suites and 1Premier Suite, all of them air-conditioned chalets nestled in the shade of the lovely riverine forest. The thatched chalets are elegant yet still quite rustic - built from natural materials of hewn rock and fine woods, they’re tastefully decorated with original arts and crafts to give that real feeling of Africa. One of the highlights for us is that each suite features an en-suite bathroom which includes an outdoor shower and for the more adventurous there's even an outdoor bath - the perfect spot to enjoy a romantic soak in a bath of bubbles lit only by candles and a canopy of stars! With just 5 rooms, this is truly a lodge where you can relax in a tranquil environment surrounded by the raw beauty of the African bush – and you can take it all in from your inviting private wooden deck. The main lodge houses a large, elegant lounge and dining area and cozy bar, which lead onto an elevated outdoor viewing deck which have fantastic views of the river and mountains. It's the perfect spot to relax with a ice cold drink whilst looking out for game in the riverbed below. A gorgeous infinity rock pool on the deck offers the ideal setting to escape from the heat of the day - if you're lucky you might even see a herd of elephants cross the river whilst you’re busy doing your own wallowing! Dining at Kuname is a delight with every meal an unforgettable occasion. Here you can take in the earthly scents of the African bush with a braai or a more elegant bush dinner can be savoured either around the roaring fire in the boma, on the wooden viewing deck or in the more formal inside dining room – or a more intimate dinner can be enjoyed for couples who wish to dine alone in the beautifully designed wine cellar! Traversing over 9000 hectares of prime bushveld with lovely views of the escarpment as your constant backdrop, Kuname is home to the Big Five as well as a wealth of other creatures – the Karongwe reserve is very well watered with 4 rivers including the perennial Makhutsi River flowing through the reserve. This enhances the game carrying capacity of the land as well as providing stunning riverine vegetation – add in the magnificent views of the towering Drakensberg escarpment and, dare we say it, but Karongwe provides arguably better game viewing and more pretty scenery than many of the better known private reserves in the lowveld! Whilst 9000 hectares is fairly small compared to some other reserves, we never even came close to traversing the whole reserve in the 4 days we spent there, so it feels plenty big enough. The quality of the game viewing we enjoyed was fantastic, with great sightings of a number of different leopards and the chance to track wild cheetah on foot being memorable highlights! Just one point to note is that the excellent last minute rates at the Karongwe lodges just include a single game drive a day to keep costs down – you are obviously free to go on the other daily game drive at a reasonable extra cost (this is actually quite a sensible approach as many people end up skipping at least one game drive as they fancy sleeping in for example!) Bush walks at Kuname are a chance to step into a world that few get the opportunity to experience and where you get to see animals at their own level. You’ll also learn about traditional medicinal plants from your Shangaan tracker, not to mention see veld skills in action that have been passed down from generation to generation! Afterwards retreat to the lodge and enjoy the stunning scenic backdrop as you sip a glass of champagne beside the cool, clear waters of the rock pool - or spend a lazy afternoon browsing the library while you unwind. Kuname Lodge will touch you deeply, rejuvenate you and soothe your soul, and quite frankly you will be blown away how the staff make you feel like a member of their ‘family' and treat you like royalty from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart! The hosting here is wonderfully warm and personal and makes Kuname one of our favourite lodges of all! RATE INCLUDES: Accommodation All meals 2 game drives daily with complementary sundowner HIGHLIGHTS: Kuname boasts a wonderfull location – nestled in a gorgeous riverine forest overlooking a riverbed with the nearby Drakensberg mountains making for a magnificent backdrop! OUR TIPS: As the furthest west of the lowveld reserves it is closer to Gauteng than most of the other private reserves in the greater Kruger area. Special SADC 2026 Rate R4,280 per person per night sharing. Book within 6 months. Standard Rate R11,140 per person per night sharing. ENQUIRE NOW

The Bushman visits here are sensitively done and not manufactured, indeed these are some of the best ‘bushman activities’ in Botswana. Informative bush walks with the Zu/’hoasi Bushmen are interesting and engaging. A stay of three nights ensures that you don’t miss the chance to witness a traditional Bushman trance dance. The archaeology in this region is fascinating and will be revealed by their expert guides on walks and trips to popular sites such as Chapman’s Baobab During the lush green season visitors have the opportunity to marvel at the breeding colony of dusky- pink flamingos of the nearby Sua Pan. The rains at this time of year bring with them migrating herds of zebra intermingled with comical wildebeest and the occasional opportunistic predator. The dry season between May and October invites one to thrill in quad bike journeys across the barren delicate salt pans. Jack’s Camp lies on the vast Ntwetwe concession, a one million – acre private wildlife reserve, shared by just three sister camps, making this an extremely exclusive safari experience. The Makgadikgadi Pans are the remnants of one of the world’s largest super lakes which once dominated much of Botswana. This striking desert landscape makes for a fascinating combination with an Okavango safari, the unique desert adapted species providing much variety to your Botswana safari. The experience here varies greatly with the season, with the migration of zebra and wildebeest and amazing birds in the green season with more classic desert species seen in the dry season. Activities will vary with the seasonal conditions too. Quad Biking is not available when the pans are wet, usually from Nov-April. PRICE INCLUDES: Luxury accommodation in a Tent All meals All alcoholic and non-alcoholic house drinks Guest laundry Daily activities Expert guiding Park entry fees Community and Conservation Fees of R275 per person per night HIGHLIGHTS Have some fun together as you get up close and personal with playful meerkats on the Meerkat Adventure Spend time walking and interacting with a group of Zu/’hoasi Bushmen gaining insight into their ancient culture. Quad biking across the lunar expanse of the pans (dry season only). Experiencing the spectacular migration of zebra and wildebeest – the second biggest in Africa and the last remaining in Southern Africa (wet season only).
