Nestled in the Waterberg mountains and within the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s Premier, Malaria Free, Big 5 Game Reserves, Sekala offers an experience to be savoured.

Guests look forward to uninterrupted early morning sun rise vista off the main deck, while having a coffee to awaken the senses. The bush comes alive on your morning game drives and it is not uncommon to see Lion or Elephant just a stone's throw from the game viewing vehicle going through their early morning routines. The reserve is home to the Big Five (Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard & Rhino) as well as Cheetah, Brown Hyena, 15 different types of buck, and more than 50 other species of mammal so you’re guaranteed an exceptional game drive experience.

You can also see a wide variety of game at the private watering hole from the lodge or walk down to the hide to view the animals up close. In the evening, just imagine a night under the stars.

Sekala Lodge consists of a spacious main lodge including lounges, bar area, dining room, library and outside entertainment area, 2 rock swimming pools and a conference centre for business meetings. Accommodation includes 5 separate Premier Suites which sleep two adults in each and an executive Family Suite (4 persons) available on request for a private family experience. Each Suite has a private outdoor shower, a fridge and tea and coffee facilities.

Sekala offers a self-catering sole-use option, a sole-use catered option and a per person sharing rate inclusive of full board, breakfast, lunch and dinner including a welcoming drink and sundowner drinks on the afternoon game drive. Tea, coffee and water are available at all times. All other drinks for your account. All meals will be prepared by our resident chef and will include a boma dinner under the African sky, of course, weather permitting.

Perfectly situated in the middle of the reserve, renowned for the best game viewing in Welgevonden, you can be assured of a memorable safari experience and coupled with 5-star treatment at the lodge – a holiday that memories are made of.

Special Sole Use Midweek Rate

per midweek night for up to 4 adults and 4 children under 13. R1,100 per additional person per night.

Sole Use Weekend Rate

R11,000

per weekend night for up to 4 adults and 4 children 12 years and younger. R1,350.00 per additional person per night.

A fully catered sole-use option is available at an extra R600.00 per adult per night which includes:

• Snacks on game drives (morning and evening)

Welgevonden Game Reserve, (Dutch for "well found"), is a 34,850 ha game reserve in the Waterberg District, of the Limpopo Province of South Africa.
