DESCRIPTION:
The adventure begins the moment you arrive at Madikwe Game Reserve. An African welcome awaits you at the lodge. Rhulani means "relax" so back and enjoy the African bush during your stay at Rhulani.

The lodge has 9 luxury rooms clustered around an active waterhole. Whichever room type you choose, they are all sumptuous and elegantly decorated, with whites contrasted against dark wood and thatch, all offer indoor and outdoor showers while you pamper yourself in the spacious luxury of your chalet. Each room is spacious and uses sliding glass doors and light to grant the rooms an even larger feeling of space. You also have your own private deck (where you can even enjoy a private massage or romantic dinner) and private heated plunge pool (at night the plunge pools are lit with old-fashioned oil-burning lamps, making for a perfect romantic environment!).

At the Rhulani Safari Lodge main lodge area water cascades gently into the meandering rock pool around which you will find ample sun or shade provided by beautiful old Marula trees, an ideal spot for quiet contemplation. Indoors and outdoors merge effortlessly at Rhulani, ensuring you magnificent views of the bush. The main area is very spacious with an indoor and outdoor lounge area, library and dining room. The impressive Boma is set just beyond the main pool.

You can enjoy total privacy and your own plunge pool which is heated in winter, Sensational game viewing opportunities await you at Rhulani.

From a comfortably furnished, underground lounge right by the watering hole, you have the opportunity to observe and photograph the wild animals up close.

A cozy "Leisure Room" can be used, on request, for a formal board meeting, as well as for a cozy discussion with lounge atmosphere, for a private meal or even for an evening watching a soccer game, as there is a huge TV screen. The movable pieces of furniture give us many options to equip the space according to your wishes.

Rhulani itself is unfenced, and the dining areas and rooms alike lead straight onto untamed bush, adding a feeling that you’re in the heart of the wilderness with animals often wandering in front of the lodge. The waterhole in front of the lodge’s public areas attract a steady stream of game with herds of elephant regular visitors. Watching these imposing animals or smaller game like zebra and impala roaming just a few dozen metres from where you’re enjoying a hearty full English breakfast is something you won’t forget in a hurry! However, that’s not to say that Rhulani is unsafe or isolated: the staff has your safety first and foremost on your minds.

The 75 000 hectares of the Madikwe reserve have a well-earned reputation for delivering quality game viewing experiences and Rhulani is unlikely to disappoint in that regard. The rangers show a high level of knowledge and love of their craft, making each dawn and dusk excursion a real treat and education. Wild dogs have become the reserve’s well-known specialty and all of the Big 5 can be spotted as well as cheetahs and an abundance of general game.
