Morala Private Game Lodge is perfectly situated in the middle of Welgevonden Game Reserve overlooking the hills and valleys of the reserve. The lodge is a private family friendly self-catering lodge that is booked in its entirety (the whole lodge) for you, your family and friends exclusive use. Indulge in a bush experience that caters for avid bush lovers and those just wanting to spend quality time away with friends. Although guests are responsible for taking their own food and beverages all meals are prepared for you by the resident cook.

Morala consists of a Main Lodge with Lounge, Dining Room and outside braai area providing guests with a comfortable living area and outside deck with exquisite views of the reserve. The benefit of booking the lodge on a exclusive basis cannot be understated; you and your guests have the benefit of a private game lodge experience together with your own game drive vehicle and private game ranger. A truly exceptional experience.

Guests staying at the lodge have the choice of a variety of en-suite chalets to suit their requirements. The chalets are positioned around the main lodge area and consist of one main en-suite chalet and and two sets of adjoining double rooms each en-suite with their own lounge area (perfect for families with children). The lodge accommodates a maximum of 10 people per night. All the chalets are serviced daily and linen and towels are provided.

Although guests are responsible for taking all their food and beverages with them to the lodge all meals are prepared for you by the resident cook. Guests decide, together with the cook, what is planned for each meal, meal times and meal location - in the lodge or alternatively at the braai area.

The lodge includes the following facilities: Viewing deck overlooking the hills and valleys of the reserve, swimming pool, lounge with fireplace, dining area and braai area and private game viewing vehicle.

Please note that the lodge is not fenced. During the day guest can walk unaccompanied between the chalets and the main lodge. We recommend that guests after sunset request a member of staff to escort you to and from the chalets.

Included in your stay at the lodge are morning and evening game drives together with a dedicated accredited and experienced game ranger. The morning game drives are preceded by a coffee or cup of tea and a rusk and depart at a time that is convenient for the group. Spectacular scenery and excellent game viewing make Welgevonden quite unlike anywhere else on earth. To visit here is to experience the spirit of true wilderness.

A pleasant 2.5-hour drive or an easy 45-minute flight from Johannesburg into one of the airstrips, makes Welgevonden one of the most accessible premier malaria free, Big 5 wilderness reserves in the country. Welgevonden Game Reserve, (Dutch for "well found"), is a 34,850 ha game reserve in the Waterberg District, of the Limpopo Province of South Africa.
