Bask in graceful safari style only steps from one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The sweeping Zambezi River and savannah views stretch from every veranda as you relax in elegance.

Named after a legendary African explorer, the Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara captures the grace and elegant of the Victorian era. More than 170 luxury rooms and suites decorated in a colonial style boast private verandas that open out onto the river. Elegant suites are situated in two-storey clusters that are inspired by the grand estates of times past. Beautiful paintings and black and white photographs of pioneers of old call to mind the grandeur of the colonial era, which a hint of tribal warmth adds an authentic African touch.

Guests can unwind in the cool shade of the travelers’ bar and sitting room while savoring an impeccably served high tea or delight in a refreshing dip in the sparkling swimming pool before tucking into delectable dishes from the restaurant’s á la carte menu. Adventurous guests can experience an elephant back safari or game drive, and adrenaline enthusiasts can seek thrills from bungee jumping to abseiling and white river rafting.

Wake up to the sight of zebras wandering the Livingstone hotel grounds. Raise a glass at sunset to the marvellous waterfall thundering to its depths as you recline in style. Surrender to relaxation with spa therapies under the shade of monkey trees on the banks of the river.

The Royal Livingstone is located on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, with free unlimited access to Victoria Falls for all resort guests.

The restaurant, lounge area and bar face the magnificent Zambezi River so guests can lounge with an awesome view. In front of the lounge also is the swimming pool with sun beds, rolling evergreen lawn and the decks. These decks are wonderful and guests can enjoy drinks and meals while watching the river flow by. The never ending rising spray from the falls less than a kilometre downstream is clearly visible from these decks.

Guests at the Royal Livingstone are welcome to treat themselves in the health spa in the main area of the hotel, and in the gazebos near the river bank, as well as the gym. It is expensive to stay at this luxury hotel but then it is a beautiful and opulent 5 star hotel and is therefore suited to guests who are more concerned about the quality of their accommodation than the price.

Take advantage of the Shuttle service to and from the Victoria Falls. A brief walk across the bridge allows you to access the falls from the Zimbawe side (have your passport handy for this crossing) as the view of the Victoria Falls from the Zambian side is quite different from that on the Zimbabwean side.
