DESCRIPTION:
Famed for its large concentrations of animals, including elephant, the year-round water seeps at Deteema Springs and Deka make for incredible wildlife sightings. The seeps are the headwaters of the Deka river which flows east to the Zambezi. Deteema Springs is a small concession area in a well-known northern region of the Hwange National Park. Close to the Deteema dam, the camp is perched on a slight rocky rise above permanent water springs, offering magnificent views of large concentrations of animals, including elephants.

The camp is simple, non-pretentious, and is designed to blend right in with its surroundings. Deteema’s eight safari tents, including a family unit each feature their own wooden deck, with all the facilities of a luxury camp such as en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, flush toilets and showers. The main deck area is tented and overlooks the Deteema Springs, offering clear views to the comings and goings of Africa.

The word “safari” conjures up images of open-air vehicles, vast open plains and herds of great animals. A game drive at Deteema Springs is an iconic way in which take a safari and get in touch with the wilds. While night safaris are not allowed due to park regulations, Deteema offers amazing opportunities for walking safaris and viewing wildlife from the comfort of the camp.
