Walkers River Camp
An Exclusive-use, Self-catering camp in the Timbavati Reserve
Location
Walkers River Camp is situated in the western corner of the Big 5 Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, on the banks of the Klaserie River.
DESCRIPTION:
Walkers River Camp offers a mix of pure nature and luxury in exclusive privacy. The camp is situated on the banks of the flowing Klaserie River under a canopy of large trees. Walkers are fortunate to traverse well over 5000 ha of the game-rich Timbavati Reserve, which boasts prolific wildlife & birdlife, most of which can be seen from camp itself!
Regular visitors to the river area in front of camp include Buffalo, Elephant herds, Lions, Leopard, Hippo and Wild Dog. Situated along a water source, birdlife is also superb.
Walkers River Camp is a self-catering camp – when you book, the whole camp is yours. Although there are 5 rooms, a maximum of 8 people are allowed (Timbavati Rule). All guest rooms have air-conditioning and beds are covered by nets, with most having fans mounted within them, which is a wonderful feature for keeping cool & mosquito free. Guests also love the heated under-blankets in winter. Guest amenities, such as hand & body wash, lotion & insect repellant soaps, are provided. WIFI is provided free of charge to guests and available in the main lounge area.
All five of the suites all have en-suite baths, outdoor showers, separate toilets, air-conditioning and fan enclosed mosquito nets covering the beds. The kitchen is well equipped with 2 large fridge / freezers, an additional chest freezer, gas stove, electric oven, microwave, kettle & Nespresso machine. The sleeperwood bar area has its own large drinks fridge.
