Luxury safari lodge in the Timbavati Game Reserve, Greater Kruger.
Timbavati Game Reserve, Greater Kruger, Limpopo
Kings Camp Private Game Reserve is situated in the Big 5 Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which shares and unfenced western boundary with the Kruger National Park. Combined with the Kruger National Park, the total area under protection is a mind-boggling 2.2 million hectares of protected African wilderness. It is considered a lesser known private reserve, offering exceptional and highly exclusive game viewing safaris in the Greater Kruger Area. In Kings Camp – a small safari camp in Timbavati Game Reserve – you will find a time where royal luxury, personal service and true pampering are the standard.
The newly renovated, generously spacious Luxury Suites are elegantly decorated in a contemporary-style offering the ultimate luxurious safari retreat. Each Luxury Suite offers magnificent views of the African bush from their private verandah with exclusive-use plunge pool. Relax and enjoy the closeness of nature with a refreshing drink around the environmentally friendly fire in your suite’s outdoor sunken lounge.
If you’re looking for family-friendly Timbavati accommodation, you’re in exactly the right place. Ideal for small families or groups travelling together, Suites 2 and 3 are combined to form a Luxury Family Suite with an inter-leading door to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. These unique suites enjoy all the amenities of the free-standing suites, with an additional shared space and their own outside dining area for private family dinners.
There are eleven generously spaced thatched suites at Kings Camp with colonial style interiors decorated in tones of dark wood. Suites are all air-conditioned, have mosquito nets, en-suite bathrooms with cool Victorian ball-and-claw baths and indoor and outdoor double showers. There are also tea and coffee facilities, a minibar and your own private veranda (with a hammock!) directly accessible from your room. Or grab a good novel and stretch out on one of the soft sofas in the comfortable living areas. There is a thatched viewing deck overlooking a waterhole (draws a crowd of thirsty wildlife), an open plan lounge and bar, spacious dining room with views over the bush and a library with internet access.
The early morning and afternoon drives traverse over 100 square kilometres of prime wildlife territory. The morning drive is accompanied by tea and coffee to wake you up. In the afternoon, gourmet canapés are served together with refreshments to cool the hot African air. Feel like walking off the extensive breakfast after the morning game drive? Join an experienced ranger on a bush walk.
