DESCRIPTION:
Idube is situated in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, adjoining the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Idube Game Reserve traverses approximately 10 000 hectares of wildlife area and is home to the big 5 animals, as well as a large variety of other animals. A great draw card for guests is the leopards, which are seen frequently.

With experienced rangers and trackers are trained to give guests the best possible wild life experience.

Idube is set in an indigenous garden with tall trees and cool, green lawns where you’ll spot nyala delicately grazing and warthogs snuffling around busily. The lodge is unusual in being one of the few largely constructed out of rough, natural coloured face bricks which seems to make it blend into the bush whilst also creating cool interiors. There are 11 rooms in all – the 9 original air-conditioned chalets (which have recently been renovated) as well as 2 gorgeous suites, the Makubela Suites. The chalets lie scattered among Knobthorn and Jackalberry trees.

All chalets are equipped with an air-conditioner, fan, tea and coffee facilities, mosquito nets and an outside shower. The bathrooms have recently had a complete makeover and all have double vanity basins, bath, toilet and shower and are finished in natural colours and textures. Each chalet has its own private deck furnished with large, comfortable chairs – just the place to enjoy the birds or watch Idube’s daily animal visitors feeding, as they make their relaxed way across the grass and between the chalets.

The two Makubela Suites offer private plunge pools on large patios overlooking the bush. Take a walk down the wooden walkway from the lodge and you will be in your own private world, apart from any other buildings and completely surrounded by natural bush. Each spacious suite has an entrance hall, bedroom and lounge, large bathroom, including bath and shower, and a separate outside shower. The 2 suites can be made interleading. As part of the Makubela package, dinner can served at your suite. The lantern lit romantic dinner served on the private deck will add another unforgettable memory of your Idube holiday.

Idube’s secret to success is that it offers some of the best animal sightings in the world at a reasonable price –this area enjoys one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations of any area in Africa. Idube offers twice-daily game drives and the area is particularly well known for the frequent and excellent sightings of leopard! You’ll also get to view loads of other animals such as elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and a vast variety of antelope and other species. Knowledgeable rangers and trackers who have been at Idube for many years go out of their way to make the drives and walks interesting and special.
